Honeymoon Registry

I was just looking on a website about honeymoons to Tahiti and they were talking about the honeymoon registry - which I've heard of before. What do you ladies think? Is this tacky or ingenous? We are definitely going to have to add stuff to our registry for my shower in the spring - a lot has been bought already! I would love to register for our honeymoon - I don't know anyone whose done this though. Please tell me what you think! Thanks!

My sister is doing it on the honeymoon.com. Most people bought stuff off of the traditional registery, but some people did purchase units on thehoneymoon.com.
I don't there is anything wrong with it.

We were offered a registry for our honeymoon, but we chose not to use it. We can just go by word of mouth for a few close relatives who might want to help out with that, but otherwise we kind of thought it was a little on the tacky side. A registry is supposed to be so you can have a nice home, with nice dishes and pretty vases and stuff like that. A hoenymoon is a glorified vacation. If you can't afford it, you don't have to go on one. You shouldn't ask people to help pay for a vacation. No offense to anyone on here, this was just how FH and I felt about it.

I thought it was a great idea but my other half did not agree. He thinks it's lame...men!
