I can't believe it's over!!! A review of my WONDERFUL 8/28/04 MILLERIDGE COTTAGE WEDDING!!

My wedding was WONDERFUL!!! That’s all I have to say. Actually, no, I have a LOT more to say!!! First, here are 2 links to some pics that people emailed me. for the first link, after you click on it, click on 'karen's wedding'.wedding pics

Okay, now here’s the review!!!

THE MILLERIDGE COTTAGE IS AWESOME!!! A++++++++++++++++++++++++
Throughout the planning process, they were amazing. I called Nadine every other day with ridiculous questions. She accommodated our every whim in the planning process (including when we wanted a private carvel cake for the 2 of us when the rest of the guests were eating bakery cake). The maitre d, steve, is maybe the nicest man I ever met in my life, aside from our bridal attendant, jean. It was about 1,000 degrees outside and we were doing outside pics….they kept bringing me water, wine, hors d’ourves…when the party started, I did not sit down once without having a full glass of wine & water. They covered our plates until we sat down…seriously, they were AMAZING!!! We got tons of compliments on the room, on the food, the service…there just aren’t words to tell you how wonderful they were. The day was truly spectacular because of them. Milleridge brides, you made the right choice!!! If you have any more specific questions, please FM me!!

now for the other details:

1) Rehearsal Dinner – Riverbay Bar & Grill, Williston Park A-
The food was awesome and we had a little private area, so that was fabulous. However, when we got there, our area was not ready yet, and it is a pretty hoppin’ place…so there were like 25 of us crammed into the waiting area for about 20 minutes. That wasn’t cool. But like I said, everything else was great. Once we got seated, they could not have been nicer.

2) Invitations – Linda’s Lovelies – A
Linda is terrific. A little scatter-brained, but so funny & so helpful. I got my invitations from her, they were very simple & very beautiful, and I got a great price. Also, I got bride & MOH tanktops from her for the bachelorette party, they were a big hit, and a BRIDE hoodie for the morning of my wedding to wear while getting ready. She did a great job and I would highly recommend her!

3) Maximus Spa, Westbury A+!
I went to maximus 2 separate times before my wedding. The first time was for a bikini wax – my first ever! I was very nervous, but the woman who did it was so nice, talked to me through the whole thing….and yeah, it HURT!!!, but Judith the waxer was great, and I was extremely glad on the honeymoon that I did it.
I also went the day before the wedding for a massage, manicure & pedicure. The massage was exactly what I needed, couldn’ t have been better.

4) Church: St. Brigid’s in Westbury, A+++++++++
I love my church. EVERYONE complimented the beautiful church, my priest (Fr. Frank Gaeta) and the musicians, who were from the church. The ceremony was absolutely perfect, so personal and could not have been better!

5) Transportation: Classic Transportation, A+
We just got one trolley for everyone. The trolley was a HUGE hit! The driver was prompt, the trolley was clean…the driver, Sal, was perfect, knew where he was going, helped me in and out, even told me afterwards what a beautiful wedding it was! I would highly recommend this company.

6) Flowers: The Milleridge Florist, A++++
When the flowers were delivered that morning, I was blown away. The bouquets were STUNNING. Throughout the whole process of planning, the people at the milleridge florist could not have been nicer or more helpful, they gave me samples, sent me away with cookies or cheesecake….and like I said, the flowers were awesome. You do NOT have to be a milleridge bride to use them, so definitely GO LOOK!!!

7) Hair / Makeup: A++++++++
I NEVER wear makeup or get my hair done, so I was a little nervous about it looking natural. For hair, we used Angela P., from Salon Capelli in Westbury. She came to the house (at 7AM!!!) and did 6 girls hair. She was very efficient, and everyone looked terrific, especially my mom!
Makeup, one of my sisters friends does make up at the chanel counter at century 21 department store. She and her coworker came to the house, did 6 girls makeup, and what a job. You can see in the pictures, my girls were gorgeous!

8) Veil/Tiara – Barron’s in tri-county – A+!
I got a LOT of compliments on both, esp my tiara. The guy at barrons was very helpful, and very affordable!!! Highly recommended!

9) Dress, BM dresses – RK Bridal – A+!
I LOVED my dress. I don’t think anything I write could explain how much so!!! RK was awesome….the woman who did my alterations was adorable, very professional. My bridesmaid dresses (bill levkoff) were beautiful as well, tons of compliments on them. RK, aside from doing a great job, was extremely affordable.

10) DJ – Charles Henry – A+++
If anyone is looking for a truly class act in DJ’s, this guy is it!!! He accommodated all my requests, was very funny & sweet, and got people dancing. He was NOT pushy at all!! ALSO, he played the piano during the cocktail hour, which was a really nice touch. Highly recommended…FM me if you want more info.

11) Photo/Video: Creative Compositions: A++++++++++++++
Now I did not get any pictures back yet so I guess my grading is a bit premature. However, they were AWESOME!!! We had done some engagement pictures ahead of time and loved them, so we made a photo signature book for guests to sign. I must have gotten 1000 compliments on it…it was a little different, and people enjoyedlooking at the pics.
Our photographers were Steve & Ruth, and Cliff was the assistant. They were funny & helpful and really made the day go smoother, from putting on peoples boutonnieres, to helping me with my dress….i can’t even tell you.. worth every penny, and I can’t wait to see the pictures!!!
our videographer was Alan, I didn’t even know he was there. Super nice, left me a message while I was on my honeymoon telling me what a beautiful wedding it was!

12) Jewelry: Billy Smith Jewelers A+++++
Our rings are so beautiful. My HUSBAND (still so weird) wanted something different, so he pretty much designed his own, it is celtic and so nice. If you look through the honeymoon pics (in the next section) there is a picture of our rings there. The jeweler is out of manhattan (in the bowery) but lives in garden city, so we just went to his house to look at rings & pick them up. If you want info, FM me!


13)Honeymoon: Aruba Wyndham: A++++++++++++++++
I didn’t sleep for like a month before the big day….slept like a BABY my whole honeymoon! We did the all inclusive plan, ate drank & slept like you’ve never seen. Did a bunch of fun stuff, but mostly just relaxed & enjoyed! I would highly recommend this hotel. Here are honeymoon pics:

Well, that’s it! The day went by in a big blur and I can’t believe it’s over!!! I am a married lady!!! And I LOVE IT!!! As much fun as the wedding was, I am so glad it is done & i am married!!!

What color was the BM dress? Navy? It looked a little lighter, but I know computer images aren't true to color. Antyway, I like the color.

thanks tourist! yes, a 1-pt bustle and it stayed no problem!
the marriott was awesome! half the wedding stayed there that night, we took over the bar that night, and everyone was great. they upgraded our room so we had this huge suite with a big balcony....so great, and the bed was SO comfy!!!

the BM dresses were bill levkoff, navy blue.
