I made the petal toss cones and now I have a ?...

Are guests supposed to pull out the petals and throw them or toss them from the cones? I'm going to feel pretty stupid at the church if someone asks me and I don't know

My guests held them by the bottom of the cone and sort of held on to the cone and tossed the petals.

I'm sure no one will come up to the bride and ask you. They'll probably ask a family member before they ask you. I would hold them by the end and kinda fling the petals in the air. I don't think you need to pull them out.
