Invitations? How early in advance do you mail them out?

I really need to know this. I'm trying to figure out how far in advance I need to give the calligrapher the invitations. How much time is everyone giving for people to RSVP?

the invitation store told us anywhere from 8-10 weeks in advance. We were going to do 8 (b/c we already sent out save the dates), but we realized that 8 was during a holiday week (July 4th), and they suggested it's better to send them a week before b/c things tend to get a little messed up when the post office has a closing. So...9 weeks for us.

RSVP is 1 month before the wedding.

I've been told 3 months. I figure that's good because my wedding is abroad so even though I've sent save-the-dates, I'd rather give people more time than less.

I think we'll send ours out 10 weeks before, since its in the summer and so many people plan parties/family gatherings around that time.

Went just sent our invites out - about 10 weeks before. The RSVP date is supposed to be about a month before the wedding.

We are sending ours out slightly less than 3 months in advance. I have a lot of out-of-town relatives.

We mailed ours Dec 28th , the RSVP date was Feb 4th. So I guess about 4 weeks before RSVP date and then like 8 weeks before the wedding.

our rsvp date is 8/1. we'll send themout themiddle of june

the knot says 6 weeks, my invitation person said 6-8 weeks is fine. i sent out save-the-dates in january since my wedding is on memorial day weekend. i'll be sending out my invites around march 30, wedding on may 28. RSVP date may 4, which is about 4 weeks after they get the invite.

i'm a little nervous after hearing how long before other people are sending out their invites... but there's nothing i can do about it now, since my invites won't be ready until around march 28th... oh, well!

We mailed ours on Sat, Feb 26 for a May 13 wedding. RSVP date is April 12.

We are mailing ours out next week (so 2 1/2 mos before) and the RSVP date is 4/18/05 (so 1 1/2 month before).

I'm stressing over this a little too. I'm ordering my invites tomorrow night and plan on mailing them out April 1st with an RSVP date of May 20th (I think... still not decided on that yet).
I was originally going to do an RSVP date of June 1st (exactly 1 month before my wedding) but that is the last day that my guests can block rooms at the hotel, so if there are late RSVPer's (which unfortunately I'm sure there will be), I want to make sure they still have time to book a room if they want to. Just another thing to think about... as if you haven't enough already!

mine will be in the mail by friday, saturday at the latest.... rsvp date april 6, for a may 14th wedding date
