Married ladies... after you were married... did it feel any different?
My dh and I were just talking and we said it didnt feel different at all to be married...the only difference is that now we dont have to think about the wedding! lolHowever we were told by my sil that thats 'not normal' and we should be 'adjusting' and that after a year of being married she and her husband are still not 100% settled in being married
Im just hoping that were normal
(Not that we are at all...)thanks girls!

Re: Married ladies... after you were married... did it feel any different?
I don't really feel any different but DH does. . he says he loves being married and I think that for me it was more of a gradual slide from engagement. . like that was a bigger feeling of change for me. . the only time it really feels different is when I use the term husband but that is more getting used to it than anything else!i know what you mean though . I feel like I should feel way more different than I do!

We dont feel any different and I think it is largely do to the fact we have lived together for almost 3 yrs. I know plenty of people that did not live together and they had a tough time in the beginning trying to get used to everything.

Re: Married ladies... after you were married... did it feel any different?
Did your SIL live her Dh before she got married? If you lived with DH before you married then it makes sense that it won't feel any different...you are still living in the same place w/the same person and have already worked out all your 'growing pains' lol. It feels much more different when you marry and then move in together because your whole living situation changes...

Re: Married ladies... after you were married... did it feel any different?
I dont feel any different. We've been living together for over 2 years so thats probably why. When I asked DH he told me that he feels that there is a difference now that Im his wife. He explained by saying that when we were engaged he didnt feel that it was different from us just dating, but not that we are married it feels more official and permanent (in a good way)

Re: Married ladies... after you were married... did it feel any different?
Only a little bit, before we were married we never lived together..So that felt different but always in a good way! I can't even imagine what my life was like before we got married. Just looking back I hated only seeing him on his 4 days off...now if I don't eat dinner with him or see him before he goes to work..it's different!!!!!

Re: Married ladies... after you were married... did it feel any different?
Thanks girls! We only lived together for a month before the wedding and even then there was no adjusting...
I get butterflies when I said husband...however i keep saying fiance still!!!
He says the only difference to him is that he loves saying wife!! So adorable! lol
They didn't live together so maybe thats why
I dont know... It did feel different to be engaged- like it meant alot to me since marriage is a huge deal for me- so maybe once we got engged that 'different' feeling was that? lol
Anyway thanks girlies!! I told him we're semi normal :)

Re: Married ladies... after you were married... did it feel any different?
Yea I dont really feel that different and DH and I did not live together before we were married.Everyone keeps on saying, 'So how is married life?' and I always say good and then they ask 'How are you adjusting?' And i am like umm adjusting, I really dont feel that way. Only thing we are adjusting is our schedules to/from work really. I feel like we just fit together and made the move in transition really smoothly. That answer is not always good enough for people!

We did not live together before marrying and it feels very different and fantastic. Honestly, DH and I really didn't have any issues adjusting like most people said we would. So I am enjoying all of this still.

Re: Married ladies... after you were married... did it feel any different?
No different I LOVE hearing him say my wife and i LOVE saying my husband, THATS the only difference. But we also lived together before the wedding.I think its totally normal to not feel that anything is any different, in fact its AWESOME! I dont think your supposed to get married and BAM the entire relationship changes, THAT to me is NOT normal. Your the same people you were...

Re: Married ladies... after you were married... did it feel any different?
Everyone keeps asking this to us as well. Like you girls said it really is not much of a change since we lived together already. But, I must say I do feel like its a higher level of a committment . Like I dont feel its really ok for me to be going out to happy hour 3 times a week while my Dh is home eating dinner a lone. So some adjustments I guess.

Re: Married ladies... after you were married... did it feel any different?
For us, it felt the same since we lived together for almost three years before we tied the knot. If anything, our families made it more of a big deal than we did b/c we already felt we were married w/o the paperwork. I think it only changes certain legal factors like changing your last name, adding your spouse for filing taxes, beneficiary, etc. On a final note, it does feel great to call each other hubby & wifey!

Re: Married ladies... after you were married... did it feel any different?
I don't feel that different because we have lived together for 2 years before we got married.. I guess in a way it feels more official but for the most part its the same for me. I just asked dh and he shrugged at me and said 'it feels.................nicer???' so I guess that means its not that different for him either...

Re: Married ladies... after you were married... did it feel any different?
of course we felt different. we didnt live together before, but were together for over 7 yrs when we got married. But when im saying different - i dont mean like it was hard to transition or hard the get used to. It was different like PP said like feeling more content. when we were finally living together we felt more NORMAL, like how things are suppose to be. for over 7 yrs we would either only see each other on the weekend or maybe a few hours during a weekday. we talked at night, but who actually enjoys that life? to me that life was stressful.. ughh i wouldnt want it again! we enjoy life together now. It is the 2 of us. our things, our choices.... so yes we feel different, we feel married now and like a true couple. It is nice.To add though, we do know each other very well. so while there were a few quirks we both had, that we didnt necessarily notice before, the transition was smooth and not stressful. we kinda just settled in.

Re: Married ladies... after you were married... did it feel any different?
It's definitely different, just not in a very palpable way. For me, it just felt like the beginning of our own little family. We now have that bond, where we consider each other in almost every decision we make. We think about the future and *know* that it includes the other. I guess it's kinda hard to explain... it's almost like the official start of your future!

Re: Married ladies... after you were married... did it feel any different?
WHAT?? U R SOOOOO NORMAL! Joe & I feel the same way. Its no different then before. We feel as happy & as in love as before. U shouldnt feel unsettled when you know the person u married is the one! I think everyone adjusts differently. Some people are more nervous then others. Dont worry girly u r all good. Just enjoy this & dont worry about what others say.
