Milleridge Cottage - Our Fall 11-10-07 Wedding Review

Good Morning,
LIW and all the 07 brides have really helped me out with their reviews and comments so I thought I would share a review with you now that I am a married woman for 1 day and 16 hours! I will post photos after DH and I return from Spain - yey, leaving tonight!

La Quinta, Garden City (A) - Had a few worries when they bought Wingate, but hotel was incredibly accommodating. The rooms were a nice size and had comfy beds. Nice complimentary breakfast and seating area. Kirsten in Sales was so helpful – La Quinta stepped in during time of crisis and helped with transportation to/from reception. Tin Alley Grill was fun as after party space - felt like college all over again!

Milleridge Florist (A) - Flowers delivered on time to Church and hotel - very classic but gorgeous arrangements. I was very pleased.

Maya - Cosmetic Artistry (A) - Mom and MIL looked and felt beautiful - she did hair and makeup. I felt like the very best version of myself - 110%! Bridal party had their hair styled and were happy with results.

Camelot Limos (A+) - Service was phenomenal, the little extras were definately noticed, and we knew the moment we booked we would not be disappointed. Brian, Jamille were our drivers,. Christine and Joe were contacts - we knew we could trust to get us to the Church on time! I highly recommend as one of our favorite vendors.

St Peter of Alcantara, Port Washington - WOW. I felt like I was in a movie when I heard the cantor sing Ave Maria…I can’t imagine NOT being married there. My parents were married there 33 years prior, and to walk down that aisle with my Father was so peaceful and gave me such a feeling of pride.

Old Westbury Gardens (A+) - Not a vendor per se, but since we signed a contract and forked over money, I think it is necessary to mention just how beautiful this site is to take photos. We were truly blown away by the outside grounds and interior. Not to mention, we got there early and we were able to take advantage of about 1/2 hour of light we didn't think would happen due to daylight savings time changing over one week prior.

Perceptions Photography (A+) - Another favorite vendor. DH and I are glad we did our research and met with Anthony Vasquez. He suggested Lisa for our wedding, and the moment we met her we just gelled well. She is easy going, calming and very creative. She took photos that were unbelievable (I actually got to see a few after she took them.) Her assistant Joey was so helpful as well. I am sure we will love the proofs etc. however we will wait and see!

Jon Bates Band (A+) – JBB TURNED IT OUT! Absolutely recommend this vendor. They are a band out of Brewster, NY and played at my MOH wedding in PA a few years ago. We knew we were going with them when we say them play in the city back in January. We received a lot of compliments – they are true musicians who can play really good rock and roll.

Milleridge Cottage (A+) – I could gush all day about how lovely this venue is. We were thrilled from start to finish with the décor, service, and food. We were treated like royalty and felt the cocktail hour and reception was even better than we could have imagined. I just loved this place and will forever remember our fabulous reception.

Coach Transporation (D) – FM me for details. Big disappointment. Our guests luckily made it to the 7pm cocktail hour – with much help from La Quinta shuttles and family and friends pitching in. Luckily almost everyone got there by 7:15, and for this I am grateful and will not comment further.

Adios, Beth
