Need advice on guest list.....

Yesterday I sat down and went over the entire list!! Scary, but anyway I fiqured the 25% in that, I Here don't show.My question is, How many of everythings do I order now. I have 3 months left and need to order the favors and don't want to be short. Plus I know off hand that about 30 people are not coming. I divided the list into 2 parts, # of couples and # of singles without guests and with. We cut back on our list by not including (& Guest) on the Singles that we know are most definetly single. Was that wrong. Need to know. Thanks

Guest Lists ... UGH!

The '& Guest' gets tricky. We have given all our currently single people the '& Guest' mainly because who knows what might come over the next few months before we get married. I know in our relationship, we became very close, very quickly. Now, here we are five years later (finally) getting married. So, I think it`s nice to consider people`s lives are constantly changing and give that option if possible. As for how many of things to order ... I`m the wrong person to ask. I`m sure I probably over ordered on everything, by a lot. We have a guest list of about 200. I believe I have about 144 bubbles! Bells I wanted on each place setting, and I went with around 190. Table cameras we have 25, but I figure I`d like to have some in the cocktail room and we have some younger guests who would probably get a kick out of having their own camera for the night. It probably seems like I`m setting myself up to be wasteful, but I just felt so strongly about having too much rather than not enough. And I didn`t want to be worrying in the final few weeks about needing to order more of anything. The cameras will be put to use somehow. The bubbles can go to my niece and nephew, or maybe I can sell them or give them to someone. We do know people getting married at the end of the year. As for the bells ... I have no idea. But I got them really cheap, so it wouldn`t be a major loss. Hey, maybe I could even get crafty this Christmas and do something with them .. maybe use them on the tree or something, or create a nice hanging ornament of some sort.

Need advice on guest list.....

You did nothing wronge by omitting and Guest for true singles. There is no right way to do it, but that is definitely OK. You may have a couple people let you know that they are bringing guests anyway, so decide whether that would be OK or at what point that would be OK. As far as favors, we had a guest list of 330, ordered 168 favors and will use 166. That leaves one for us and one spare. Perfect! We also have a lot of singles.

Guest Lists ... UGH!

Right before I met my FI, an old friend called me and told me she was getting married. She also asked me if I was seeing anyone (prob for invitation purposes as well as curiosity). I said no, but within a month I met my FI. At her shower, I told her about him and she asked me if I wanted to bring him. So you can change things if the single person gets involved. Otherwise they may bring just anyone to bring someone. As for cameras, I have heard from past brides that they either get 15 pictures of the first dance and the cutting of the cake or they get extremely weird or strange pictures. I know at a coworkers wedding we made funny faces on the camera. So what I thought I would do is buy maybe 5 cameras and give specific instructions to bridal party not to take pictures of what the photog is taking but things that might get missed. These are the people closest in my life and will get the pictures I want (hopefully). For bubbles, I will probably get just under who Im expecting to come. 132 - 144 bubbles for 150-170 guests. As Kel said you can easily give those away if there are any kids, or give to another bride. Kel: what kind of bells did you get? I wanted to have bells on each place setting as well. You said they were inexpensive? Are they the ones that you get from the favor places or did you get them somewhere else?

Guest Lists ... Bells answer...

My FI & I fish alot and all our friends and family know this, so I ordered These small brass fishing bells that you put on the end of a fishing pole so that if you fall asleep or have other poles rigged up and a fish is on,(the bell will ring), you know which pole it is!! It's pretty neet. I ordered them from our local tackle and bait shop. The other good thing about them is it has an clip on top so you clip it to the fishing pole, but in my case I'm clipping, the placecard to the bell!!!! I've already made up the seating card myself and of course they're a picture of a fish with the guests name on it and table #. My Fi loves them!!!

About cameras-yabbobay

You may think you only want your bridal party to take certain pics, but you`d be surprised at how pleased you will be if you put cameras on all the tables and allow your guests to use their own judgement and take pics as they see fit. I am glad to have pictures from all the tables-they really are fun to see. From one, obviously someone had followed my mother around and got her in pics with everyone, on another they were all hamming it up and yet another they got shots of alot of different people the dance floor. Point is that these pics, you will really get to see your wedding from all angles, not just what a few people are doing. You will see some nice shots of your guests enjoying themselves and helping you celebrate. If you`re less structured with it, you won`t be sorry after the wedding when you are reliving your wonderful day. Yes, we did get shots of us with the cake from many angles but we got some other pictures that I am so glad to have - and couldn't have planned for someone to get. Have fun with it!
