NWR - pill question

i just read something about BC pills and thought i would ask!
what pill is everyone on? i take ortho tri cyclen lo but feel like i have gained weight - anyone else?

i hated ortho tri cyclen, but most people love it. i'm on lo-ovral, and i like it a lot.

I take the generic for ortho-cyclen. It's called sprintec. Costs 8 bucks a month and no side effects. What a bargain

I am not on anything now. But I was on Ortho-Tri-Cyclen and Ortho-Tri-Cyclen low. I didn't have any bad side effects with them and my skin looked great. I gained a lot of weight with Alesse last year and then switched to Yasmine (which was good). If you have gained a lot of weight over a short period of time, definitely talk to your gyn.

oooh, i would love to never get my period, lol! i originially was on orth tri cyclen - the regular one and i swear i blew up like a balloon
then i was switched to orth tri cyclen lo but still feel like i am puffy, you know??

thats why i ask!!

I'm on ortho tri cyclen and no side effects, but i've been on it a long time. As soon as I get insurance i'm going to see about going on seasonale.

i agree, i was on ortho tricyclin low and i felt very bloated, and the scale would show about a five pound weight gain, but it was all in my belly and thighs... i tried one final time to take it and really cut back on what i was eating but i still felt bloated... so i finally gave up :(

I had alot of problems on ortho tri lo. I had my period for 3 months straight on it. My doctor took me off of it and took some blood tests. Told me my hormones were totally messed up, and now I can't be on any type of hormone therapy until my body regulates itself again. I want to go back on Nordette, that is the only pill that I never had any problems with.

I just switched from ortho-tri to ortho-lo. Yeah I gained some weight when I went on the pill, but the pros outweigh the cons (IMO).

I am on Ovcon...which I think sounds like some kind of roach killer. I had asked my doc about Seasonale but he said you can get the same effect from whatever pill you are on. So I have been skipping the placebo pills and just choosing to get my period every few months.

Me too... I get it every three months.... I do get a few side effects- breast tenderness being a big one.

Seasonale is set up so easy- you get all the packs together in one case

it's so easy- I used to hate having to go the drug store all the time

orthotricyclene for 4 years. i didn't experience weight gain (lucky me) and i don't get the cramps i used to get. but i think it makes me moody at times during my cycle and i think it lowers my sex drive :( i am thinking about switching pills. ~lacey

I was on orthotricyclene lo-I hated it, horrible mood swings, and ravenous appetite-I'm on Apri now, and I love it, although I'm really interested in the seasonale...it would be awesome to only have it every couple of months

I'm on Yasmin & I think it's pretty good..i've been taking it for 3 years and haven't had any problems, don't feel like i put on weight like i did with the ortho tricyclin. there was some breakthrough bleeding the 1st month or two, but that was it.

everyone's different, so what works for some doesn't work for others...sometimes you just have to try them out and see what's best.

I guess it worked out so well because my doctor gave me a few sample packs. He had just said if you are on a pill that works for you you shouldn't bother switching.
