Photographer - update...you won't believe it!!!

For all those who have been following my ridiculous saga with my photographer, believe it or not, there is yet another chapter. We went this weekend to pick up the proofs and unedited video. (By the way, the woman didn't know that she was 'supposed' to make us pay in cash.) Well, after they said that there were still trying to 'find' our other table shots, if they existed, and that we had to be 'patient', we paid the remaining balance by credit card, and took our proofs & unedited video home. To be fair, the proofs were and the video was great, EXCEPT, in the video, when the microphone was passed around for the 'interviews' at the tables, THE DAMNED VIDEO IDIOT HAD NEVER TURNED THE MICROPHONE ON, so ALL of the interviews are in complete silence - just a silent movie, with everyone moving their mouths - there is no speaking!!!! Of course, my luck, the photographer was closed on Sunday, and on Monday, so I will be going there on Tuesday to deal with this mess now. I don't know what can be done now, but I'm REALLY sick of this!!! Just wanted to keep you updated...

I really don't want to scare anyone here, especially those who are just starting out with the plans for their wedding. I just wanted everyone to know the things that CAN and DO happen, and to try to make sure ahead of time, that you discuss everything with your vendors.
Now I am hooked on all of the prescriptives stuff :)

That's horrible. As you may recall, I plan on using the same company you used. Please keep us updated. Thanks and good luck!

Does anyone know of a priest who would be willing to perform a catholic ceremony in a garden for a couple who were both raised catholic? Although the Catholic Church permits priests to participate in ceremonies outside of the church for interfaith couples, they forbid two catholics to get married outside of the church. Despite this rule, I have heard that some priests would be willing to do it anyway (even though it would not be recognized by the church).
Any recommendations?

Lauren,

Not to defend the studio that you've obviously had a difficult time with, but the missing audio on the interviews may just mean that when the studio dubbed over your unedited video from the camera master tape, they didn't dub over both channels of audio (usually the camera mike is on one channel and the hand-held mike for interviews is on another---video has two channels of audio). They very well may have not recorded audio during the interviews, but this may be a false alarm. If they look at the camera master, then you'll know for sure.

Thank you SOOOO much - I will definitely ask them about it (I've printed out your message so that I will know the exact words to tell them.) I am hoping that it is the case, but I'll let you know. Thanks again!!!
If you dont know, ask someone! My grammar was wrong and they capitalized something they shouldnt have..luckily, I was able to return them because of a different mistake that they made which was their fault..regarding paper stock..but normally you cant return them..Once its printed..thats it.

We're paying $169 (plus tax) for them to copy a Bill Levkoff design. That seemed to be the standard price for a relatively simple gown. They're really nice there (Helen's Bridal) and were very patient with the 2,000 questions I was asking. They also have an amazing choice of colors to pick from, which was why I eventually chose them b/c I'm doing a rainbow wedding-all my girls are wearing different colors. They're at Suite 1212, 1385 Broadway.

Hi Lauren!
What is the name of the studio that you used?
I'm so sorry about all the problems you are having. I think it's just terrible.

I'm sorry, I don't want to post it publicly. But if you want to e-mail me '[email protected]', I'll tell you. Thanks.

Michelle - I think that was very rude of you to do that. I had offered, EVERYTIME, to inform anyone who was interested in knowing the name of my vendor, to e-mail me directly, and I would tell them privately. In fact, I received several e-mails today, and I told them privately. But, you could have at least respected my wishes to keep it 'private', as my goal here, again, was not to destroy reputation, but to warn brides-to-be. I hope you're happy with yourself.

You are so powerful that you can singlehandedly 'destroy their reputation'? Don't give yourself so much credit. I just got tired of seeing over and over people asking who it is. You're making it into more of a melodrama by insisting on carrying on with the 'email me privately' comment.

I guess different people have different ways of being. Suit yourself.

Not to get involved, but if people wanted to know, as I did, all they had to do is search on past posts by Lauren. She has mentioned several times (before all these problems with the studio started) that she was using the photographer in question.

I think it's nice that she didn't want to bring up their name at this point.
