PLEASE vote on time frame!
Okay, I know you are all tired of me posting about my church dilemna, and I promise you will never have to hear about it again (except for the final decision of course
).I haven't received an overwhelming response in the past, so I decided to do a quick and easy poll- Please Vote!
#1
My House to My Church-9 minutes
3:00 - Ceremony begins (cannot have a mass- 'celebration' is 30 minutes long)
Travel time between Church and Villa Lombardi's: approx: 21 minutes
6:00 Reception Starts
(guests will be sent suggestions for what to do between church and reception- parents will not host at houses.)
OR
#2
My House to Fiance's Church - 53 minutes
3:30 ceremony begins (will not have time for a full mass, so 'celebration' - 30 minutes long)
Travel Time between Church and Villa Lombardi's: approx. 37 minutes.
Reception begins 6:00
If these were your options, what would you choose?
Thanks Ladies!!!

Re: PLEASE vote on time frame!
#1 - Less stress, more time. The advise I give any bride is to make sure you give enough time between the church and the ceremony. This prevents you from being too stressed. If you are actually looking to enjoy your cocktail hour this will give you enough time to take pictures and enjoy your day. It sets the tone for your day, you won't feel rushed and the day doesn't go as fast.

Re: PLEASE vote on time frame!
I would go with #1, but why does the travel time between the church and the reception hall change? Wha tkind of sugestions will you be making for the guests to do in between? That is a good idea!

Re: PLEASE vote on time frame!
Go with #1 (and too be too concerned for your guests - they will find their way! believe me...most people are use to it!). I had almost the exact timing situation as #1 except my reception was 6:30. We took pictures in vbetween and we were rushed towards the end if I wanted to be part of my cocktail hour! My MIL was very upset about the time difference and was very hard on us for this but even she realized that day how quick that in between time goes.MIL hosted a little thing at the hotel in between - pastries and things for her family and friends. My family and our friends all found things to do and not one person said anything to us. I laughed my co-workers all dressed up - hung out in a Borders and read magazines!! They didn't care but it was kind of funny. LOL

I'd pick number 2 - I HATE WAITING BETWEEN CHURCH AND FOOD!

Re: PLEASE vote on time frame!
#1, you're the one who will have the most stress the day of, so why add. I don't mind waiting in between the church and the reception.

Re: PLEASE vote on time frame!
While #1 has a long wait period, number 2 seems to be risky with not enough time. People always find something to do. It's your day to do whats best for you and try to not worry about the guests, they will be fine.btw-Villa is beautiful and the food is great!

Re: PLEASE vote on time frame!
#1 but don't let guests give suggestions...you'll get either no one suggesting anything or too many suggestions and people going 'why didn't you pick my suggestion?' Or ask some of your friends or family for suggestions, but not via the invitation. Perhaps someone will offer up their home for the 'down time'. but if you ask for suggestions it might seem like you're asking for someone to offer up their home...not something you want to do.Is there no way to push the church back later?
If not, then people will just either go home or go to their hotel. Don't worry about parents having guests at their home in between or not. And don't sweat it, your guests will not be upset that there was such a long time period in between each. Like others said, people find things to do in between. Yours is not the first to have 'down time' and certainly not the last : ) Don't sweat it!
Otherwise, you can do #2 but can you book a hotel for the night before so you get ready closer to your fiances church?
And are you taking into account traffic in your time frames?

I vote for two. As long as your ceremony starts on time, I don't think it'll be a problem.

#1, but I would also make sure the church is the one that means the most to you and hubby.

Re: PLEASE vote on time frame!
from a bride's perspective #1. guests can always find something to do. if there's enough time they can even go to the church casual and use the time in between to change

Re: PLEASE vote on time frame!
I would vote for #1. I had to give up taking our pics at a site like Westbury Gardens b.c it would have meant too much rushing around the day of. FH and I decided that it was more important to enjoy the day, and our guests- many of whom will be traveling long distances to be with us. For your peace of mind I think the closer church and more picture time will work better. Good luck!
