Reception Hall remarks

I thought we could all share our experiences as we shop for our halls and vendors. We got engaged on Christmas Day and are planning to be married in October 2008.

We have looked at the Jericho Terrace which quoted us $95 + tax + grat. for a Friday and $135 + + for a Saturday with a 150 person minimum for either night. The Skylight Room is very nice. Lots of places to take pics inside.

Then we went to the Riveria which quoted us $90 + + but the room was situated in an odd fashion that makes it difficult for all guests to view the dance floor. Otherwise very warm and cozy.

Chateau La Mer was very nice with Yacht arrivals to the reception hall. The two rooms are both very nice with fireplaces and the cocktail room is being remodeled as we speak. For a Friday we were quoted $80++, for a Saturday $90++, and for a Sunday $72++. Add $15 for Viennese. The large room guarantees 150 and the smaller room 125. So far this is a good choice. We are going there for a tasting tomorrow. We'll let you know!!!!!

All comments are appreciated. We are here to help eachother!!!

Re: Reception Hall remarks

We booked the Sandcasatle. Of all the places we looked at (11 in all) it was the best. We were treated like royalty the minute we walked in the door. Patty is the best. She showed us around and got excited about all the perks of her place. The pricing was also the best for everything we will receive. They even threw in a honeymoon in Greece. You can't beat that. We can't wait to party there. Feel free to post questions. I will be more that happy to share.

Re: Reception Hall remarks

It is a 10 day stay at a hotel in Greece. No airfare or food included but it can be used anytime. We cannot go for our honeymoon because the resort closes from mid-october to march for their winter season but we can use it in September of the following year as a pre-anniversary trip. All you have to do is let them know 8 months before you want to use it and they set you up. It was just the perfect perk to help make our decision. What other place could match that?? Not to mention how nice they are there. Patty is the best.

Re: Reception Hall remarks

My bro got married at Chateu la mer 08/05, great place and very big reception room. Great for big weddings, which theres was. There is another room upstairs, not sure the size but I'm sure it's a little smaller.
They really liked the people that worked there, he said they were all very nice & very helpful from the planning to the day of the wedding.
Food was good, and the desserts were delicious.

Re: Reception Hall remarks

I would def go check out CLM. We're getting married there Oct 07 and they are top notch. The staff is absolutly wonderful. They know every detail about your wedding even when it is so far away. They truly make you feel like you are their only bride! As far as the food, well, if you've been to their food tasting you'll know it's excellent. And regardless of what room you're in, the view is incredible!

On top of all that, the price is great! You really get a TON for your money! High recommendations from this bride to be!

Re: Reception Hall remarks

Sorry for invading your boards, but I'm a CLM bride too & like everyone else said, they've been nothing but top notch from day 1. We're a Sat. night summer wedding & our quote was closer to the 100. mark + tax & service charge.

The food is spectacular & the staff is top notch. I'd highly highly recommend them!!!!!!

I'm also getting married at OLPH!

Are any of you ladies doing pre-cana starting Thurs. April 27?
