Riviera-cocktail hour?

I like the Riveria but wondered if anyone had any feed back on the cocktail hour. It seems that the room is very small and would be crowded. Any info would help.Thank you.

Melissa;

That topic generated a pretty heated discussions a while back. If you do a search on the topic and related topics (I think it was feeding your vendors) you'll see that the opinions run the gamut.

Riviera-cocktail hour?

I was there in March. There were about 140 guests and we were stepping over each other to get to tables at the cocktail hour. It was difficult to get to the end of the line for the food with all the people around cause it went past the bar into the reception area.

Yes, I did see your pictures-they were great.

The tasting went great-we are going with the two-star menu. First, we tried a sampling of the hors d'oeuvres that will be passed around during the cocktail hour-everything was fantastic, especially the baked clams.

Riviera-cocktail hour?

Hi Diane,

Good news: The place is pretty. Situated on the water, balcony to throw the bouquet....Seems nice.... Bad news: The food is only so so. It is difficult to get around, cocktails and course portions small. The main course served cold, by the time they get to your table and generally ACHH....

I think the key for our families is that they want pictures, but they don't necessarily have to be in the expensive, heavy bound album.

Riviera-cocktail hour?

is this in brklyn?

All of the married couples get called on the dancefloor. Since everyone thinks this is just a dance they comply. Then the entertainer asks for all the couples married under two years to leave, then five, then ten, then fifteen, then twenty etc...Eventually they get down to ones and twos.....The couple on the dance floor the longest gets the bouquet.....It is so unexpected and fun!!!It also reminds all of us of how important it is that the committment is forever.. Regards, Kat

No the Riveria they are talking about is in Long Island. The Riveria in Brooklyn is fab fab fab... Great service, large portions, French service, one wedding at a time, large outdoor garden. I have to stop I am drooling...Kath
