Seemed a good place to ask this question....
Does anyone know if insurance companies treat pregnancy as a 'pre-existing' condition? As in, if you are already pregnant and you try to get insurance, will they cover your preganancy? If not, is there a waiting period? Any info would be helpful. Thanks!

My experience with ins. co.. i think Aetna , untied and cigna, treat it as a pre exsisting cond. so if you have med ins. now and your preg. then you need to keep it until the baby is born then you can make the switch,,, but you should def. call the member services number on the back of your card to check it out...

If you are covered by insurance when you get pregnant and then you switch insurance carriers, the second carried is required by NYS law to cover you for the remainder of your pregnancy. If you have no coverage and then you get coverage it depends on the carrier. You would have to check with them to see if you are covered.Welcome New Vendors
