I emailed C&C lighting to see if they could give me a quick price quote for uplighting....

Does anyone know what uplighting typically costs and what the diff bt uplighting and pin lighting is?

TIA!

(I can't believe i'm worried about lighting right now, am I on crack?)

Re: Uplighting vs Pin Lighting?????? And lighting companies?

I used world of illuminations a vendor on here. Uplighting depends on the number of lights you get to go around the room (# of lights depends on the size of the room).

if you go through a DJ it's cheaper. MY DJ did not provide this so I went with the lighting company. I also had: pin spots on CP's and gobo.

Uplighting - lights are placed around the room against the wall. These usually change colors throughout the night.

Pin Spots - lighitng which spotlights the floral Centerpiece on the table.

Re: Uplighting vs Pin Lighting?????? And lighting companies?

I did it, and it made SUCH a difference to the room. I don't know what pin lighting is.

Mine was only $595, but I got a discount because I had other things added too.

Actually they were higher than the company I initially got a quote from...they're getting closer though after a little negotiation...if I can get them down around 3-500 more I might add it...

The way I see it is, we're 2 1/2 weeks away, you either have the night off or ya make some money, take your pick! hahah

Re: Uplighting vs Pin Lighting?????? And lighting companies?

I think the pin lighting has to be provided from your RH because it's lights on the ceiling (I know my place it's there already). Talk to your RH, see what they say, and if they don't have it, maybe they can recommend something.

Re: Uplighting vs Pin Lighting?????? And lighting companies?

Uplighting, kinetic lighting, pin spot lighting, gobo lights all diff:

uplighting are small lights that come from the floor and shoot upwards to the ceiling to illuminate a certain area.

Kinetic lighting goes down, from ceiling to floor and illuminates a much larger area that uplighting,

Pin spot lighting are lights that specifically focus on one thing, such as a centerpiece (kind of like a spotlight)

Gobo lights are lights that move around, on the dancefloor, around the room, to your centerpieces, they can even have your monogram on them to illuminate over the dancefloor.

Hope i helped!!!!!!!!!
