Re: TUESDAY QOTD

I don't have anything like that. I got stuff I didn't register for but was excited about it all...

I would say the two non-registry things I have put to best use are

1) the giant set of Christmas Themed Cocktail party paraphernalia from my BM - appetizer plates, martini glasses, wine glasses, cocktail napkins, etc.

2) the handmade blanket from my sorority sister

I didn't even catch that!!

The only thing I received that wasn't on my registry was a canvas beach bag with our names on it. I love it!!

Other than that, everything was on the registry. Isn't that crazy?

Re: TUESDAY QOTD

The only thing I got that wasn't on my registry was wishing well stuff.

One of my favorites: my best friends made me a separate wishing well with all holiday stuff in it:

They put different wreaths for the door for each holiday, placemats, dish towels, etc., first Christmas in your new house ornaments, first married Christmas ornaments, St. Patricks Day welcome mats, just so much stuff.

I had a whole bunch of holiday stuff already but it was nice to get all new stuff for the new house!

I think it was the best thing I got at my shower.

Re: WEDNESDAY QOTD -DUH! lol

My admin assistant knows I like to bake, and she made me a basket filled with various baking tools...my fav being a mini flour sifter! the sifter I have is really big, and it's nice to have something smaller and easier to clean :).

Re: WEDNESDAY QOTD -DUH! lol

My mom got me an onion saver and a garlic saver (those little plastic containers in the shape of an onion and garlic lol that you put your cut onion and garlic in to preserve them). At first I thought it was silly, but I use them all the time because it's only 2 of us, so we never use a full onion in one shot. Someone also gave us parchment paper in our wishing well and I was like um alright, but I ended up using that as my surface to roll out Linzer Tart dough, so it ended up being pretty useful!
