I think they oversee all the vendors, set up centerpeices, call and confirm things, and manage every aspects for the day of your wedding.. photo shoots, BP and so forth

Where do they meet you? At your house while you're prepping? Don't the florists set up the CP's??? I'm so confused...I've been ready so much about them on the boards, whether they're worth it or not, but I just can't see what they would do.

our planner handles the entire rehearsal, shows up while you are getting ready, smooths everything out. as mine says, she will sweep the floor, fix your hair, cut off your drunk cousin at the bar, give all the vendors their pay- etc. etc. it is just extra assurance i suppose.

Re: What's a DOC (Day of Coordinator?)
They are a God sent! IMO!
They'll handle almost anything! Think about all the paperwork organizing and confirming w/vendors the week before the wedding...do you want to be doing that...Not me!
They'll do that. That day they will set up all the 'items', etc. that you have for ceremony & reception like favors, guest book, unity candle, pics, etc. All the way you want it. Any problems arise...they handle it. I thought of it this way...We're spending way too much money for us not to enjoy that day. All I want to be concerned about is my husband, family, food, drinks and dancing!
Some DOC's will even help you out with the planning processes...scope out vendors for you, etc. Some DOC's come to the rehersal & rehersal dinner to make sure everything is running smoothly. Some DOC's help with putting together favors, programs, etc.
If you're interested shop around...there are a lot of DOC's out there. Keep in mind personalities too.... I met with one that made me feel like it's her day and I should listen to her...when another is willing to answer calls 3am if I need her. (She's the one we chose!)
I hope this helps!
