Thanksgiving as a holiday rubs me the wrong way. I hate (loath) the reference to Ameican Indians. White man came to rape and conquer this land. Its a shame those Indians who met them were peaceful. Should have killed them on sight.

Either way, the white man stole the Indian's food and had a feast from the bounty they 'found' and the indians 'gave' (in trade cause thats what indians do).

I dont feel its a time to celebrate but to reflect and mourn the loss of a complete culture due to ignorance and snobbery. Those Indian savages as they were called who at least bathed daily (the horror).

BAck to football..Thank GOD I get the day off to watch Football. Only shiny part of the whole day.

Then falling asleep to the sounds of roars in the crowds after being stuffed solid. Yes that is my kinda day.

i hate turkey.

my favorite is the sweet potatoes with marshmallows on top. ANd regular mashed potatoes.... and stuffing too. All the side dishes are the best part!!! (except for cranberry sauce)

second best part... LEFTOVERS!!!!

I like the dessert, since I am not a big fan of Thanksgiving, since it is centered around a turkey, and I am a vegetarian. So unless my mom makes pasta too, everything else is boring.

Me too Michelle!! Although I love the sides. I can fill up on that...sweet potatos, string beans, stuffing, corn, biscuits...Last year I brought home take-out from Zen palate to add to the table..yumm!

I am a vegatarian so turkey is not an option for me. My mother makes broccoli cassorle. It is one of my favorite things in general, but definately my favorite Thanksgiving food. Damn, now I might have to make some.
