Who plans your shower?

I always thought it was your mom, but my mother claims its my MOH's responsibility.

I had been curious too. I thought it was the BP but I see here that more and more Moms are doing it. If your BP is small and young, they may not have the resources to finance a luncheon for 20+ people. I told my BP (all mid 30s) to ask my mom and sisters to help them. they would never refuse. When my brother got married, my sisters and myself werent in the BP but we contributed favors and decorations to the shower - it was what we wanted to do and it was something we could afford.

if my Mom was alive she would have helped or done most of it

One of my BMs is having it at her house, but I expect my mom and other BMs to chip in for food/decorations.

I agree that it depends on the size/age/financial status of your BP. My best friend only had her sister in her BP so her sister and mom paid for the shower.

I was in another wedding where the BP got the place, decorations and invites, and the bride's mom paid for the food.

Traditionally your MOH plans your shower. Often the other bridesmaids will also help. It used to be thought that it was tacky for a family member (mother, grandmother etc) to plan a party where gift giving was required.

However I think mom's are involved in a lot of showers these days. My mother co-hosted my shower with my MOH.

None of my BM was interested in helping my MOH and my mother so the both of them just worked together and did not even bother the BMs because it was no point if they did not have any interest.

My sister (MOH) is planning it with my mom.

ETA: Actually though, most of my BMs are family so I imagine they will have some sort of role. Also, my sister is the kind of person who likes to get everyone involved so they don't feel left out.
