i spent a week on a cruise with DH's family ... it was pretty awful

that said, i thought it'd be much worse than it was (but we really only saw them for dinner and the nightly shows)

i'm going on one in May. if the planning process was a pain, it's going to be one interesting vacation. thank god all our rooms on the boat are scattered. LOL.

we did that a loooong time ago... his entire family went to Vegas! I love the rest of his family except for his parents... lol so it wasnt really a problem... in fact Shaun was more of a problem on this trip than his mom!

vacation with his dad's side of the family, not such a bad thought...

vacation with this mom's side, totally cringe-worthy...

we go on a family camping trip with his mom's side memorial day weekend and while they're really generally nice people, we're so different - aka - they think we're from 'the big city' and his aunt asked 'what water we're drinking' since we just bought a new car and we're going to hawaii... ummm sorry that we don't live in a small town and drive our car to the ground and we make good salaries and choose to do as we see fit with it! no one seems be up my SIL's a$$ because she's buying a house but they always find soemthing condescending to say about us. UGH. DREAD

my MIL and 2 of my SILs are THE most difficult and catty people I have ever met in my life. Everything is lose-lose with them. Anytime we have a family gathering my general plan of attack is to have a large glass of red wine in my hand at all times and engage in the most surface level converstation possible.

you are DEF not the only one. the idea of going on vacation with them gives me the heebie jeebies. GROSS.
