birthday shindig

i am *SO* not the kind of person to throw myself a birthday gathering.....i know many people like to organize stuff for their birthdays...god bless! just not my style!

BUT, DH is totally pressuring me (not in a bad way) to decide what I wanna do for my 30th...which is 3/9 AHHHH

Our initial plan was to go to dinner with my parents and BIL/SIL and then all of us would stay at the Ritz in the city (BIL is a cop and has a craaazy hookup with the Ritz)...but it kinda sounds like that is falling through now...figured i would spread the word to my closest friends to meet up with us after dinner at either a cute bar or the hotel lobby bar

SO, i have 2 thoughts....picking a bar and keeping it totally flexible for people to stop by throughout the night

OR...finding a restaurant that won't charge us a room fee for a private space and just be surrounded by family and closest friends....


thoughts?! i am SOOOO not good at planning for myself....

ooohhh okay - LOVE the suggestion!

think we're gonna do dinner just us and my parents and brother and then Kieran said we can foot the bill for a few hours of open bar for all comers!

hollleerrrrrrrrrrrrr - we're aiming for 3/12! gotta get a move on the planning front....

all of a sudden I think i am digging the whole event planning for myself thing!

See if there are any bars that would do some kind of deal for an open bar. Some places will give people in your party bracelets for like $30 or $40 for a few hours - so that you guys don't have to foot the bill for an open bar.
