cake

We dont have the freezer space for our top tier so my friends parent have had it in their freezer. Plus, the idea of eating cake that has been frozen for a year doesnt sit well with me, dh and I decided before the wedding we would eat it for out 1 months and then have it remade for our 1st anniversary. So my cake is defrosting right now waiting to be eaten tomorrow. Im exciting I didnt really get to taste it at the wedding. Hope it still taste good.

Re: cake

my problem was that we left for our HM right away and my parents never asked me what i wanted to do w/ the cake. it was in our fridge and i found it about a month later and opened it to a box of mold

my goal is to learn how to make our cake and surprise DH with one, not necessarily for our 1 year. I'm going to start small w/ cupcakes though

Re: cake

How exciting!! We did the exact same thing. Even though I probably would have eaten it at one year, DH told me that he refused to eat cake that was that old. We decided to eat it at our one month mark too! Obviously it wasn't as fresh as on our wedding day but it still tasted pretty good! We're going to have our bakery create a replica of the top tier for our one year also!

Enjoy your cake!!

Re: cake

I didn't even think of this. DH and I were so out of it that when my dad asked 'do you want your cake' we both said 'no' without really thinking about it. I guess I'll just have to go to Dortoni's and ask them to make a replicia of our cake!! Sounds good to me!
