Condo woes....(semi long one....'le sigh..)
Just wanted to biitch and whine!DH and I bought our condo almost 6 years ago...and it was supposed to be our '5 year home'. We have totally outgrown it and are both miserable there! We hate almost all of our neighbors (and its mutual..lol) and we both work too far from home now. So, we met with out real estate agent (a good friend) and she broke some bad news to us. Theres bigger and more expensive condo in our building that foreclosed...and the bank owns it for 94K
Our unit was 167k. Theres NO WAY we can sell our condo until the bank does something with the condo in out building. Blah!!!!! Its so aggravating. She did say that we can rent out our unit and then go rent a bigger place. She found houses that we could rent that would cost us what we're already paying for our mortgage. I am ALL for it, but DH is afraid if we rent out our condo...it would either get trashed or people wont pay us the rent $ and then we'll be stuck paying for the house and the rental.
With all that said...we are TTC and hopefully I will be pregnant by the end of the year. Theres no way I can have a baby in the condo we live in. Things are so tight as it is. I am hoping I can convince DH to rent...but he is such a stubborn a$$ sometimes.
Blah..just needed to type this one out. Its really weighing heavy on me. I was hoping to have my condo on the market this week!
Thanks for reading!!!

Re: Condo woes....(semi long one....'le sigh..)
oooohhhh sticky frustrating situation...sorry love!I mean I hear DH's concerns...my parents were landlords when I was growing up...they owned a condo in addition to our house and they had tenants in the condo...and I just remember nightmare-ish situations1
BUTTTT, you guys can develop a rigorous interview process and request references, etc in an effort to pick the best possible people to rent your home!
GOOD LUCK!!!!

Re: Condo woes....(semi long one....'le sigh..)
is their some sort of board in your condo?see I am renting my co-op and feel kinda protected with the board.
If a tenant is trouble, I have them to back me up!
And who knows? Maybe you can find a friend of a friend.
