Cooperstown NY

Has anyone been? Is it a good weekend get away spot. DH and I need some time away and I know he'd LOVE the BB hall of fame. Although I'm not into it I would enjoy watching him be happy.

Any suggestions?

Re: Cooperstown NY

I went as a surprise for my Dad back in 2007. He was delivering a paper there for a conference and I drove up and surprised him. It was cute actually.

The little town where the Hall of Fame is located is really nice. Nice places to eat and you can't beat the scenery.

We ate breakfast one morning at the Doubleday Cafe and it was delicious!

I think we stayed at the Best Western Inn & Suites and it was nice, no frills though. You might want to look into a nice Inn in the area.

I think it would be a wonderful weekend away!

Re: Cooperstown NY

I planned a trip for DH's birthday a few years ago and we had a BLAST!!!

We stayed at a great little bed and breakfast right in town....I can't remember the name of it for the life of me but I will look it up.

The backyard of the B&B is right on Doubleday field. We arrived in late and night in the dark and owner of the B&B took us out to see the field with flashlights....it was SOOOO cool...I felt like a kid!

Re: Cooperstown NY

yup, i went with my dad when i was around 12 or 13. i love baseball so i was happy to go but surprisingly the baseball hall of fame was quite small for what it is. but besides that, its such a quiante town with lots of sports memorbilia stores, small town shops, cafes, etc. i would say a long weekend is great but when it gets warmer so you can enjoy walking
