Expression buster

guys, i am notorious for KILLING common expressions....

for example, I just said 'field house' instead of 'wheel house'

DH gets such a kick out of it...he says it is 'endearing'...but i feel retarded! i usually make one significant blunder everyday.

Anyone else??

Re: Expression buster

If you don't already, please start watching Modern Family. Particularly the one with the box of baby Jesuses.

ETA: I've been trying to find a video of it online, but there's NOTHING. How can this be?

Re: Expression buster

i had no idea what 'wheel house' was till now ... and only because i googled it ....

my mom does things like that ... she asked if we wanted to go to the movie 'gumpy boy' (forest gump) and buy a 'boy game' (gameboy) ... yeah, this was way-back-when ... she still does these things though ... but we love her 'cause she makes us smile

Re: Expression buster

DH is laughing at me all the time for the things I say... Mostly cause I'm thinking and talking so fast that I mix the words up, or combine two words...

The other night I meant to say 'it's nothing to sneeze at'... and came out with 'It's no sneeze'... He looked at me like what?!?

Or I'll mean to say 'Here you go'.. and I'm thinking 'good to go' and it comes out 'Here you Good'

I do that a lot. Like in Mean Girls when she starts to say great and changes her mind last minute to cool and it comes out 'Grool'.

i've totally done that.

one time with my ex, i was saying 'hi honey' and 'hi baby' at the same time and it came out 'hi bunny' ... and bunny was his nickname for the rest of our relationship (nice and masculine, huh?) poor guy

Re: Expression buster

For the longest time, I thought the expression was '6 of 12, half a dozen of the other.'

6 of 12 is 6, so I figured it was right!
