Head table ?

HELLO!!!!!

First its been so long since I have been on here and second my ?/situtation is...............

I am the MOH for a friend of mine. She wanted to do a head table (her, FH, MOH, BM and the rest of the bridal party). Her FH (thank god) was able to talk her out of that. He wants just the tow of them but they were able to agree on Her, FH, MOH, BM and one Grooms men and one Bridesmaid (the rest of the bridal party will be at tables next to us). The problem is my DH will have to sit with people he doesn’t know as will the rest of the people I am sitting with dates. I tried to explain to her this is very 80’s and not done anymore (she is from upstate so they do things very different than LI). So, my question is how do I talk her out of it?

ThanksJ

Re: Head table ?

Honestly, i don't see anything wrong with her & her FH sitting with you guys EXCEPT that you won't get to sit with your hubby.

Would she be willing to change it to allow your (and everyone else's) spouse to sit there with you?

Re: Head table ?

I will try to talk to her FH. She wanted her, her FH and just the bridal party at a long table. I explained to her how my husband (as well as the dates of the bridal party) will be alone with people he doesnt know. I asked if he too can sit with us and she actually said 'No, its for the bridal party only. He will sit at a table by us so you can see him' My husband is not to happy he will be alone and doesnt want to go. I am going to try to talk to her FH or tell her my husband isnt going to come since he will be all alone all day and then cant sit with me. Thanks so much:)

I don't even know what help I can give you. I never understood the long bridal party table. The only thing I could suggest is telling her that the bridal party that is going to be sitting with her won't be at the table with her most of the time because they will be with their significant other/date. Or they'll have everyone's significant other/date hovering around their table instead. Doesn't make a pretty background for pictures.

I'm grasping at straws here...trying to think of anything for you to tell her.

Re: Head table ?

what if she kept it to bride, groom, MOH (and date) and BM (and date). Basically removing the two other bridal party people and replacing them with both of your dates.

This too is a great idea. The BM is married too! And two other people have BF/GF. Thanks.

Re: Head table ?

If the couple does a sweetheart table in the middle, they could do bridal party tables on each side - one with the GM's, one with the BM's and each member of the bridal party can have their respective dates at the table - that way her bridal party is close to her and the BP can still enjoy their significant other at the same time?
