Holy Cow...

What a crappy week..... I haven't been on since Friday cause my company decided to lay off someone in my department (she worked here 15 years!).. .and then tell me before I went home that I'm training her replacement who starts on Monday.

Holy Crazy! I've been so busy...and to top it all off - last night they laid off 5 additional people in the company... and it is being tossed around that another 4 or 5 today...

While I feel so bad for every one, I'm thankful that I still have my job...but wonder, for how long?!?!?!

Ugh - that stinks. They laid off someone in my office yesterday - really kills morale

They hired a consulting firm to 'streamline' the company, and this was his recommendation...

DH's company was like that last year. They went from public to private, and the company that bought booted everyone- literally 2/3 of the employees. They are now selling off piece by piece. The good thing is DH keeps getting promoted because everyone above him is jumping ship. It makes me nervous though....

That sucks. I feel like loyalty goes nowhere in today's job market.

Every company is cutting costs and they lay off the tenured employees to then hire someone at a lower salary. It makes sense with the economy but REALLY BLOWS.
