Oh Shamrock... my puppy Zoey was a terror also. Here are a few pictures of some of her destruction (you're not alone!!)... These were from when we were in college.

Ok, pics fixed!

Wow!!!!!!! Is that you in the 2nd picture? How can one even smile picking all that up??

I thought the same thing- I would not be smiling!

Re: I love Shamrock but....

Ahh puppies.

Growing up, our dog ate the kitchen tiles. Ripped them up and ate them. I don't mean chewed on them, I mean swallowed. She also ate a couch. Not a loveseat, the big couch. Well, everything but the frame and some stuffing. But boy did I love that dog.

My old dog (a boxer) ate my couch. I walked into the living room and there was only springs and stuffing and pieces of wood everywhere.

My new puppy (she'll be 9 months tomorrow) chewed a hole in the carpet. SIGH.

Cant wait until she grows out of this stage ..

theyre just so freaking cute though.

Re: I love Shamrock but....

Marshall ate the carpet in my rented apartment...that was the only time I broke down and said I wanted to give him away . In the past, he also ate: a DSL Router, a remote control, tampons, over 30 pairs of underwear (he learned how to open my dresser drawer, ewww), rocks, sticks, socks, onion (which is poisonous to dogs, but he somehow survived), and a half a box of Junior Mints (the box, not the candy). None of these things are ever in his reach, he has learned to climb, open, close whatever it takes to get to what he wants. He is MUCH better now and does not eat anything except for food!

Re: I love Shamrock but....

Edison ate the guest-room mattress lol. He also found some halloween decoration that had fake liquid blood in it and tore it open so there was fake blood all over our carpet....it looked like someone was murdered.

Try bitter-apple. If you catch them chewing, spray the area and then spray it in their mouth. It doesn't work for all dogs/cats but it has worked for us.

Speaking of bionic animals, my destruction-laden pup managed to eat an entire bag of hershey kisses - tin foil wrappers and all - and lived to tell the tale We were terrified when we came home and all that remained was an empty plastic bag. And she ended up being fine!

Re: I love Shamrock but....

No way guys, I win on the destructive dog front.

Irwin ate a rebate check for our computer in the amount of $200. I mean ripped it to shreds. I had to call the company and ask them to send a new one. They asked what happened to the original and I said 'It got.... destroyed.' She sounded a little confused when and ask 'Destroyed how?' 'Umm... my dog ate it.' I think she peed herself on the other end.

It's funny though now that we have our second dog, Lucy, we still have the crate out for her even though we don't use it anymore. But when Lucy wants to chew on something she knows she's not allowed to, she grabs it quietly and brings it into her crate to chew on. I've found numerous soda bottles, a USB cord, remotes, shoes, socks, papers, TONS of cardboard (it's her fave aside from my GOOD tupperware), and I can't even imagine what else.

ETA: And my dogs have both eaten onions and chocolate. I don't give it to them, but it doesn't mean they don't get it. They've never even gotten sick. Stomachs made of lead- just like their momma.
