yes, they are.

i actually just read though that i can increase my score further by opening a credit card.

i have been relying on my debit card for the past few years.

i paid off my credit cards and let the accounts expire.

I just got an American Express Blue card and I love it! I only plan on using it for food shopping/target/etc.

no its definitely good to have open available credit.

i had to explain this to DH for years before i finally practically hijacked his SSN and opened the card for him.

we pay netflix with it every month and immediately pay it off.

its actually good to have at least 2 major credit cards open and in good standing.

i just checked my credit score and that was one of the things they discussed there. so i'm working on getting him to open another one.

CONGRATS! I've been working on paying mine off and then I'm going to keep my Capital One and another one that gives me my credit score on a month to month basis! I'm with Becca and hope to be all paid up by the end of the year!

I feel your pain and joy at the same time!! I was close to 16 grand in debt and I have only 1100 left to go.. I am soo excited to have this burden be gone and I almost had to seel me car but thak goodness DH helped me tremedously and I didnt have to go that far.. I was soo sad and upset for so long and fot myself really sick over it.. im still not the same but slowly tryin to get there. Its such a relief to not have it hanging over me and my relationship anymore
