but to change my name





most women in my family have kept their maiden names (my mother, aunts, cousins, etc)

DH always knew that I was not planning on changing my name. He doesnt have a problem w/it nor has he ever made any comments to me abt it.

Recently, I've been thinking abt my name and our family... I'm trying to put off baby plans as long as possible...but this (name change) is a step towards baby making/family.

so....how do i start the process?
and should i hyphenate or completely change my name?

On your marriage license does it say that you are able to use DH last name? If so then you just go to Social Security and DMV with your marriage cert and change your name there. Once that is done you can change it at work, Credit Cards etc..

If its not on the marriage license that your new surname is DH last name- then I am not sure how it works

To answer the original q though...I'm not sure...DH & I still haven't done any name changing things lol
