Is there a way to stop sunburn from peeling???

I have DH's 5 year college reunion at BC this weekend and I am peeling. BADLY.

I cannot meet his ex girlfriend with my skin coming off.

You just have to keep moisturizing! Use aloe if you can!

Might as well try though. Use ultra moisturizing stuff like Aveeno!

Re: Is there a way to stop sunburn from peeling???

I have PLENTY of experience in the peeling dept

I agree with all of the above - moisturize the bejesus outta yourself....apply a boat load before sleep and then wear all cotton.

But honestly, I've found that once you start peeling there often is no turning back and you have to let it just run its course.

Re: Is there a way to stop sunburn from peeling???

When this happens to me I rub my peeling skin off in the shower as much as possible with out hurting myself of course. Try that. Most of it will come off easily this way. It's just one way to maybe speed up the process. I know it's gross but it's one of those yuck facts of life.

Re: Is there a way to stop sunburn from peeling???

What about picking up an exfoliator from the drug store?! Get off as much of the peelies the morning of the reunion!

Also, I'm not sure where spray tanning might fit in (this is the kind of idea that gets me into 'pickles') but check out Gotham Glow if you think a spray might help!! It is AH-MAZINGLY natural looking! I went for one when I was STARK white and I got a very light shade of bronze...it looked and felt amazing!

this use a ton of moisturizer for damaged skin...

but once it starts peeling you really can't prevent it from continuing.

Re: Is there a way to stop sunburn from peeling???

This is probably the complete WRONG thing to do but I always get a mild exfoliator and use it in the shower to get the loose/dead skin off. Then I just moisturize the heck out of it.
