Marriage Certificate - how long?

Hey ladies! How long did it take for you to receive your marriage certificate in the mail?

The city clerk's office says you should get it within 20 days. It's been 25 so I called them and some rude lady told me that they're still working on ones from October and haven't even touched November. She was like 'its too early for November 5th' and when I politely explained that the city clerk's website says that I should have it in 20 days and to contact the marriage bureau if I haven't received it, she basically said yeah that's not true.

And when I asked approximately when I should expect it, she tells me she can't give me any information on that! So I said...uhh 6 months? And she said 'Well it shouldn't be that long.'

It's not like I'm waiting to change my name or anything.

So I ask you girls (especially NYC boroughs/Brooklyn people) how long did it take for you to get it in the mail?

I got mine within 2 weeks. We are in the Bronx but it came from the Manhattan bureau

I got mine in a week and a half. If you are waiting for it to add yourself/or DH to one or the other's health insurance - don't wait. You only have 30 days to file a life change event.

i dont know when mine came, but it was at my house when i got back from my HM on 11/20. you might want to call the church to make sure they sent the signed license to the town. it is their job to do that.

we got it back right after the honeymoon so maybe 14 - 15 days!

Ours came in while we were on the honeymoon... less than a week during a holiday weekend none the less lol

we were on our HM for 1 month and when we came back it wa there, but I was stalking my sister via email to let me know when we got it and it was about 3 weeks after the wedding. But that was back in June, which I know is a busy season.
I know Sept/Oct is busy season too, so maybe they really are delayed?
