Picking proofs - strategy ???
Its now 4months later and I am in the middle of picking my proofs (the holidays really put everything on hold !!), anyway i wanted to know if anyone has has any good strategies on picking proofs. They are in albums, but should i take out the ones i want and lay them on the table ? So far I have put stickies on the ones i want, but then I see more and more others that i want....
also, did any of you put candid shots in the album? there are alot of candid shots that the photographer caught that i love, but it is appropriate to put them in ? like my siblings and I dancing (like in a circle, arms in arms) singing LOUDLY (singing our hearts out!) to an Italian song we love...and a few others, like hugging my dad....thinking back i think most peoples albums are posed pictures...i guess there are really no rules ?

it's hard to pick our only a certain number of pic, what the place told me to do was to put them before the church , myself then with my mom then with dad then bridal party and etc... continue with the church after the church the cocktail and then reception this way you can make sure that you have pictures from each part of the ay. we were only going to have 60 but after I picked the proofs and went over it with the designer it turned out to be 100.. we decided to do a mix of posed and candid color and BLK/wht the only thing that we made sure the pictures did was to tell a story of our wedding day..... good luck

Hi Anna..this is what I did...I went through them initially and instantly removed the ones I knew I didn't want...then I went through the ones I DID want and put all the similar poses together, took that stack and really looked the detail in the photograph (facial expressions, etc.) and then narrowed down until we had one shot we both liked (in my case, my photographer took 4-5 shots of the same pose..after a while it gets tiring especially when you have 300-400 pictures)...my main album has 70 photos in it with a mix of posed, color, sepia, B&W, and especially some candids...there's no rule that you can only have posed shots in your album..pick the pictures you love..that's what makes an album unique...best wishes.
