Planning a trip to Europe
DH and I are planning to go to Italy and maybe one other country for our 1 year anniversary in September... only problem - we have NO IDEA where to start! How do we book flights and hotels and everything? Do we fly into one city, take the train while we're there and fly out of another?Any recommendations would be hugely appreciated!!

Re: Planning a trip to Europe
DH and I want to go to Italy for a few days ...we were going to do Rome and Florence / Pisa (we only have 4 days) ... fi we had more time, we'd also go to Milan.
We would be flying round-trip to/from Rome ... and taking the train between cities. if we had time to go to venice, we'd be flying out of there

Ireland is absolutely AMAZING! Dublin is one of my favorite cities in the world. It's so much fun. Then you see the countryside it's beyond beautiful. I highly recommend it.

Did you book your flight through the airline directly or through a travel website, like expedia or orbitz?

Dh and I are going to Paris with a day trip to Amsterdam. Depending on where u want to go its better to train or plane it. Raileurope is a goodsite for trains.Eta we used a travel agent who shall remain unnamed

Re: Planning a trip to Europe
i'll def check out raileurope!clearly i need to do more research, but i'll probably start by comparing flight prices between travel sites and airlines. luckily DH gets hotel points from work, so we will look at the starwood hotel group to book hotels. we're definitely flexible with timing so maybe we can get a better flight price that way and then build the trip around that. haha i sounds so clueless!

Re: Planning a trip to Europe
take a look at places you want to go, then start looking at flights. multi-point flights are sometimes cheaper than r/t from same airporti usually use kayak for price compare. they also have a feature that tells you certain dates of 'deals'

Re: Planning a trip to Europe
we used a travel agent who specializes in european trips. you email her when you want to go, where, for how long and approximate budget and she plans everything else.message me if you want her info, i'd post it now but i'm not sure where it is.
