How long do your fights with DH last?

ETA: the 'big' fights .... not the silly ones.

not that long. im usually the one who wants to drag it out because im so dramatic about everything. he tries to make me laugh.

our big fights usually last overnight, and we make up the following day ... i hate it but DH reaches a point where he can't talk anymore and shuts down .... it works out anyhow cause it gives us time to cool off

we usually go at it for short periods of time...a few minutes...literally. tension usually lingers for an hour or two before we fully resolve our issue. very rarely do things carry on for longer than that. we have however, in the recent past, gone to bed pissed off at each other but then quickly resolved things in the morning because we both just can't stand it....

The last time we had a HUGE blowout, it was on and off for 3-4 days, but mostly it's about a day.

I voted an hour or two- I get over things really quickly...He is the one who marinates on things for a while. But when I see it going over an hour or two, I tell him to cut.it.out. And he usually listens.

a few hours, tops...

We're both big on talking things out... and I tend to beat things til they're dead so we don't have to argue about it again!

We try very hard not to raise our voices to each other (and it very rarely happens).. and we hardly ever go to bed angry... (i think only twice in 6 1/2 years!).

We got advise from a good family friend who has been married 61 years... He said that the secret is 'what happens today, stays in today.... it never wanders into tomorrow'... We figure if it worked for them for 61 years, it'll work for us!

Honestly, we really dont have big fights at all. We've never had a fight that's lasted more than an hour or two.

A couple of hours...usually long enough for us to calm down, stop yelling and insulting each other and get down to talking about whats bothering us calmly and rationally.

Depends. A few hours or a day. Dino does the silent treatment (which I hate) and if he's really mad, he usually needs the day to cool off. We don't get those big fights too often, thankfully, and we've gotten better at having then not last as long. Hate fighting!!!

same for us. DH is the type of person who needs that cool down time. I also hate it. I rather talk it out right away but it ends up working out better if I just let him have his couple of hours to cool off.
