Queens Girls?

I know we've done this before with where does everyone live but who lives in Queens? And are you staying there when you buy a house (if you don't have one already)?

I'm just wondering who I live close to...

We're in Flushing (exit 25 off the LIE). When you are driving on the LIE you actually see 2 TALL buildings, I'm in one of those buildings - by Parson's and Jewell in Electchester.

And I would love to stay in Queens but DH is from Wantagh and I always say 'you can take the boy out of LI but you can't take the LI out of the boy!'

ETA: because I'm stuck on stupid!

Re: Queens Girls?

Me! But you know that already.
For those who dont know- I am in Bayside.

We own our home and are going to stay there another 9 years until DH retires. Then we are moving out to our house in Greenport.

Re: Queens Girls?

I'm in Queens. Ozone Park.

I wouldn't buy in my neighborhood, but I don't see us leaving the NYC area. I could see us buying in other parts of Queens or in Brooklyn, definitely. But not near the hipsters because they are gross.

Re: Queens Girls?

I'm like borderline Flushing//Bayside, like North Flushing, by Durso's.

DH owns the house we're in, but it's a 2 family and our apt is big, but I'd love to have a house one day. I love the area by Bowne park; the houses there are beautiful.

Re: Queens Girls?

I am in Glen Oaks. Lived in forest hills, drive to ozone park every day. Husband grew up in Bellerose.. love queens.

If money was no object I'd probably move to LI (where I grew up) but DH loves queens as do I and he refuses to leave....

Re: Queens Girls?

Queens Village/Hollis area. Francis Lewis Blvd. I wish we could afford the LI taxes but we can't. We figure we could move as close to the Nassau border as possible to stay in the Queens price range. He likes Glen Oaks and Bellerose. I work in Brooklyn and actually wouldn't mind moving there...really depends on what part though.

Re: Queens Girls?

We live in Forest Hills on Queens Blvd near Yellowstone Blvd...

I grew up on LI, DH grew up in Westchester so we're both suburban kids. Truth be told, I'm ready to leave the island. Hopefully within another year or so we'll be ready to buy something in Westchester

I know I've said this before but lets be neighbors in Westchester!

We've been casually looking at towns like New Rochelle, White Plains, Eastchester...

We're right near there too - we're off 63rd Drive and Queens Blvd in Rego Park

I came from Farmingdale and I like it here, it makes the commute to work really freaking easy, but I can't wait to get back to LI and have a driveway and backyard again.

I'm in Queens- Elmhurst- exit 19 off the LIE. We're probably staying in the area once we buy a house.
