I wouldn't buy in my neighborhood, but I don't see us leaving the NYC area. I could see us buying in other parts of Queens or in Brooklyn, definitely. But not near the hipsters because they are gross.

right now in Windsor Park, in Queens.

we are looking to purchase in long island. I would have been very happy staying here in Bayside/whitestone/fresh meadows area but the prices are crazy high, the low taxes (compared to LI dont even compensate)

I grew up on LI, DH grew up in Westchester so we're both suburban kids. Truth be told, I'm ready to leave the island. Hopefully within another year or so we'll be ready to buy something in Westchester

I know I've said this before but lets be neighbors in Westchester!

We've been casually looking at towns like New Rochelle, White Plains, Eastchester...

Yes let's be neighbors!!! That's around where we are looking too. Since DH works in the city, his commute won't be too bad on Metro North, and I'm looking for jobs in the city or westchester so that'll be our first step

Hahaha YES...my cousin posted it on my FB a couple of days ago. I want to find one and fill it with high calorie foods and poison.
