reunion

I recently connected with a former colleague of mine from when I was an undergrad intern. He was a consultant on the finance team that I worked for for 2 summers and I saw him on LinkedIn because he got his MBA from the same program that I just completed. I'm beginning a job search and he now has a very high level job at the company I worked for not only as an intern but for 3 years after college. I left on extremely good terms and would absolutely consider going back.

The thing is, we were really flirty and silly when I was an intern. We went to dinner one time at the end of the summer but nothing happened and it was just an innocent and fun summer crush type thing. We kept in touch a bit when I went back to college but we just kinda slipped out of touch.

We connected on LinkedIn and he forwarded me a picture of his new baby and I shared a wedding pic. He is a great professional contact and it is nice to be in touch. I've mentioned all the details to DH and neither of us could care less....it just feels ever so slightly....funny, I guess? Can't think of the right word? I guess the only reason I even typed this out is because I guess if the tables were turned and it was DH's situation I'd feel a little something. I dunno! I guess this has turned into a ramble!

Re: reunion

I understand what you're saying - cause the last time you 'knew' this person you kinda knew each other differently...and it's very hard to put into words.

Re: reunion

I can understand that 'funny' feeling - you are taking that trip down memory lane and it was obviously a pretty signifigant part of your life so it sticks out.

I am sure that 'funny' feeling will go away as things move forward with the possible job opportunity.

But i hear ya - if it were DH I would feel more then 'funny' - i guess that whole double standard thing comes into play there.

But it seems like an awesome opportunity for you so hopefully it works out!!!!
