Suggestions for a day trip

Ok so I want to do something tomorrow with DH but no freaking clue what. I wanted to do something outside since the leaves look so nice now. Maybe something upstate? I love going up and wine tasting and to go enjoy the views..but he hates wine...so I want something both of us can do.

Or even something local. I mentioned to him the museum of sex...but we can do that anytime.

Any of you lovelies have suggestions?

Re: Suggestions for a day trip

If yo want to stay local, how about Old Westbury Gardens or Bayard Cutting Arboretum? You could pack lunch or snacks (Bayard has a small cafe, not sure about Old Westbury)

Greenport maybe? There's a bunch of shops and places to eat...and you can taste beer at the Greenport Harbor Brewery!

That's a good idea..or maybe planting fields. He's never been to any of the gardens or historic mansions. I've been once a long time ago.

Re: Suggestions for a day trip

I would take a picnic or something and go up to the Rockefeller State Park. We took our TTD pics there and it was sooo peaceful and beautiful. Dress up warm, but it's a nice little hike and enjoyable

You can also go to AC if you want a little more excitement, close enough to drive.

I think anything up state now would be beautiful w/ all the leave change colors.

Re: Suggestions for a day trip

It's near Westchester. It's nothing fancy at all, but it's sooooo serene. Super quiet, barely anyone around so that was amazing. Not sure what you guys are into hah

Oh one of my good friends always jogs there now that I think about it. That's where her DH proposed to her and took her E-pics there. It's jogging my memory now.

Re: Suggestions for a day trip

If you want to take a drive, look into Kykuit - its a Rockefeller estate in Tarrytown. The grounds are beautiful - especially this time of year with the pretty fall foliage.
