This is exciting. House-related.

The house we live in is owned by DH and his parents. They don't live there. (Thank you sweet baby Jesus)

We have tenants upstairs and downstairs. The downstairs apartment is a legal basement apartment, and there is a staircase that leads into our apartment (there's a door, obviously, that stays locked). We have thought long and hard about whether or not we TRULY need the rent from the people downstairs. And we don't. We can afford to not have them there. We've had some issues with them in the past and decided that he was going to tell them last night (when he collected the rent) that they had to move.

DH is much nicer than I am and had anxiety over telling them to pack their shyt; I would've told them but there's a language barrier there...as in, they speak and understand English when it's convenient for them.

Anyway...last night when he went to collect the rent, they told DH that they had decided that they would be moving at the end of May!

WE ARE RID OF THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And we'll have two floors!!!!!!!!!!!!

And our backyard will be ALL OURS!!!!! (Which technically, it is, but their entrance is through the back of the house so you know....they come and go and whatnot)

That's awesome!!! We have the same set up and it's soooooo nice having the basement, especially since it has access to the backyard. Enjoy it!
