ETA: it's official, even after writing a letter about my DH and I, the sellers went with a higher offer and I can't blame them. This is just so emotionally draining! Any advice or words of wisdom are appreciated. TIA.

I hear you! We have been house hunting and it feels like a job! We had the same thing happen to us, it's so annoying. But you will find something.

Re: x-posting my sob story - House related
I know the feeling after loosing a house/apartment that you wanted
It really is draining. We put an offer on two other apartments before we got the one we did. The first one we lost because someone wanted to bid above the offering price, so we just gave up. The second one we lost because the board didn't want to speak with us (they didn't tell us why, but we're 99% sure it's either our age or that we weren't married). When we finally did get the apartment we're in now, we were sooo happy we didn't get another apartment. in the end, you find the one that you're meant to be in and it's better than the rest. I know it's hard to see it that way now, but it all works out
Hang in there and just don't give up! I wanted to give in so many times but we kept going and got the perfect apt for us!

Re: x-posting my sob story - House related
i feel your pain. we just went into contract on a glorious condo in brooklyn a couple weeks ago, but getting to that point was a huge pain.we had an accepted offer on one place, but the developers (it was new construction) were being really shady so we pulled out. also, we found out that our broker told the seller's agent something we specifically told her not to tell them (nothing major, but a negotiating point) and therefore we lost all trust in her and had to find a new one.
then we had an accepted offer on one place, and were about to sign the contract, and they went with another offer that was only a couple thousand more! it was a great place, i was really upset.
then we didn't see anything we really loved.
but THEN we found the place where we are in contract, it is by far my favorite! i am a big believer that things will play out the way they are supposed to. the biggest advice i can give you is not to lose heart and to be patient!!

Re: x-posting my sob story - House related
When we started looking there were houses one after another that we found, fell in love with, put offers in thought we had ( to the extent we started 'stalking ' the neighborhood ) and somehow lost all of them. Got a lil discouraged and then opened up to looking in other areas and we found a house that we both think is amazing. Looking back Im so happy We didnt get any of those other houses, it was worth the wait and sounds mad corny but 95% of time I think it will come when its right. Dont get too down, keep looking and remeber offers sometimes fall through , take your time to find whats really right for yall. Good luck girly

I am so sorry Carla. When DH and I were house hunting this happened to us four times. Each time We fell in love with a house and something completely insane would happen to cause us to lose the house... all cash offers, higher bids at the last minute and the sellers wouldn't counter...You will find the right house! Don't get discouraged!!!!
