my cousin works for construction and he is union and its happens to him once in a while. But like you said usually his is back to work with in a week.
So i will keep my fingers crossed that by tuesday they will have something for him, and then its just like he took a long weekend

What union and where does he work? The city or LI?

He is in NY/NJ and it is Local 7.

I just asked my DH, he's a construction super in the city but none of his subs need any 7s right now. Sorry. I'm sure they'll have him on another job soon.

FH has lost his job a few times since we've been engaged so I know how stressful it is.. I'll be praying for you guys

I am so sorry. I know how it feels. FH is not in a union job but since we have moved in together (year and half ago) FH was laid off 3 times. I will be saying prayers for you and FH that he will get a new job quick!!!

OH NO M*I*A!! Don't worry. I'm sure he will get put on another job really quick. Try to be calm about it. I'm sure he's feeling really bad about it though. In the meantime can he do any side jobs?

No problem.

I know what it's like......construction is such a nutty industry, it's either non-stop or dead, there's rarely an in-between. When it looks like it's slowing doing, DH always gets a little stressed. We've been lucky so far *knock on wood* but I've seen it happen to his friends/co-workers, but they usually do get picked up on another job shortly. Good Luck to your FH.

My FH was laid off a month ago so I can relate to how you are feeling. Try not to get too upset ( easier said than done) bc honestly, everything happens for a reason! He found a better job 2 weeks later!
