Re: Anyone been on a detox diet?

I did the detox...my FH is a chiropractor and he specializes in weight loss/nutrition..although i am overweight hehe...anyway he has a special program where you take supplements, vitamins and a special shake so your body does get the essentials. I must say it was very difficult at first but then you begin to realize how much junk you really put into your body...i lost 15 pounds and not just that but really did feel like i cleansed myself out i had more energy and my skin looked amazing... i did it for 21 days...then i slowly began to eat more food but healthier choices...its worth a try !!!

Re: Anyone been on a detox diet?

I hope everyone knows I was talking about the detox and not the laxatives. I agree laxatives are not the right way to go

Absolutely!!! I was following you with that - its just that when I read about the laxatives, every nerve in my body reacted -

I saw my friend do it and get sick,
I read an article about a popular fitness personality doing it for years and finally coming out for other women to never do - I forgot her name though,
My soon to be 11 year old niece is bulimic, and has been in-and-out of treatment centers since she was 8 (long story - not just body issues, but bulimia is a personal thing to me) - laxative abuse is bulimia!!!

So sorry to hear about your neice. Bulimia is becoming so much more predominant in younger girls. It is so scary.

yes - unfortunately, its a sad mix of needing control over her life, more than true body issues - thanks for your kind thoughts!!!

Re: Anyone been on a detox diet?

I did the Hollywood 48 hour one, and it was torture! But I did feel good afterwards, and I lost almost 5lbs (then gained it right back!)
