Are you changing your name?
karen-do you know of a web site to go about finding information on getting a marriage license? thanks,
As a result they have a beautiful reply hanging on their wall from the president and first lady regretting their not being able to attend and well their wishes to my parents.
I do not believe the public ever receives an authentic signature from the president of the united states. The pope...maybe.

I'm not - but b/c its Town/County specific, you might want to check w/the licensing division of wherever you're looking to be married.
My church gave me the mailing address and phone number for Queens County...very helpful!!!
That being said, I"m told lots of folks got engaged for NYEve 2000 so there may be more folks beating down the door than before.....

i was thinking of keeping my maiden name at work and of course my married name at home....any thoughts
Try a place called Money Savers on Flatbush Avenue in Marine Park (between Ave P & Quentin). They have a really good selection and are very helpful.
Good luck!

I'm pondering whether to keep my maiden name or not, my maiden name symbolizes my Irish backround. Although I do not want to hyphenate, I've heard of so many problems with that, If I do keep it I will probably make it my middle name.
I hope this helps! May be less aggrevating than fighting the airlines......

The problem seems to be mostly with the kids. We started out hyphenating (Brett-Kauffman), but it got too unwieldly + the kids decided to just stay with my wife's name (Brett). Now I'm the only one in the family with Kauffman so I'll likely change my name to Brett (Mark Brett sounds pretty good!) The problem I have now is with the business, so I'm in the process of changing the name to Angelica Studios. There is no way my wife wanted to change her name. (She's a published writer + simply likes her own name.) She doesn't have any problems with keeping her name, but I sure can see all kinds of problems in changing my name! I can easily empathize with all the brides with this delema! Why not ask him if he is willing to change his name and then ask why it is expected for you to change yours? The best solution I've seen is when a whole new name is chosen for the new family for everyone!
Good luck!
