We're attending ours. I would suggest talking to your photographer and finding out how long they will need for pictures. Our photographer told us one hour maximum for pictures, so we'll still be able to attend our CH (we have a break between the ceremony and reception).

We're planning on doing a receiving line (so we make sure we greet everyone) and then will mingle at the CH. We think this is sufficient so we won't need to go around to the tables at the reception.

I attended my cocktail hour -- it was great! You get a lot more time to talk to people (thought don't expect to eat, I never really moved, people just kept coming up to me).

However, 20 is not enough time for pictures -- unless you take some before.

I completely agree. We were grateful to have the extra time with our guests during CH. This also meant that we could then spend a lot more time on the dance floor!

I would also recommend allocating 30-45 min for photos.

Yes, mainly b/c we're arriving by yacht at CLM & will be brought in right during CH. FH would not miss his raw bar either

We are definately going to the cocktail hour. We figure we can greet people at the cocktail hour so that we can really enjoy our reception.

We are definitely atending the CH. We don't want to miss one minute of the day.

We spoke to our photographer and he said that it is possible to attend the cocktail hour, FH & I don't want to miss a second of our wedding!
