I love the name Noah for a boy, and he thinks its too biblical, and its not gonna happen

My FH HATED the name Noah when I was pregnant with our 2nd child. I told him I wanted that name for a boy and he said “ARE YOU KIDDING? Noah’s ARK? Why don’t we just name him Mordecai or Moses??”

I let it drop because I didn’t know if it was a boy or a girl and didn’t seem worth arguing about…but I still LOVED the name.

Fast forward to the day our 2nd son is born.

He is in recovery with me and telling me “You know.. I have been thinking about Jason… it isn’t so bad.” Jason had been another one of my choices that he shot down. I said “Let me spend some time with the baby before we rush into a decision.” At this point I KNEW he would be Noah. I just had to work on a way to get Rob to agree.

That afternoon Rob comes back up and we are chatting about the baby and he says “Did you think of a name that you like? Jason? Vincent?”
Now… here is where I go for the academy award. In the most meek and tired voice I can muster – all while fluttering my lashes and trying to look frail and demure… I say “I don’t know honey… he just .. I …” Tears start to well up….

Rob: “Honey! What? Sweetie… don’t cry.. what?”

Me: “I just love the name Noah… I feel like that is his name… it fits..and I know you hate it. And I don’t know what to do!”

At this point – after seeing me give birth to his beloved and healthy child – he says “No babe.. Noah is fine. Noah is great. That’s good! Noah!”

And Noah he is.

Mind you Rob LOVES the name Noah now. We call him NoNo because he is sooo naughty…but it is a great name! A total fit.

If your husband is completely against Noah and you don’t want to use subtle manipulation, run Jonah by him! I LOVE the name Jonah. And he can be Joe!

actually - Jonah has less of a chance - the first thing he said to me when I said I like the name Noah was - ' What next? You'll want to name the next kid Jonah?'

DH has already named our male children:
Christopher Michael III (called Trey)
Timothy Patrick

I can live with the first one, but I really don't love the second. I really love Joseph. There is something about a little boy named Joey.

For girls, I love the name Kylie Parker. I really like Kylie and Parker was my uncle's name, and it is a family name that I wouldn't want to lose and would be if I don't name one of my kids it in some form.

My cousin did the same thing with her first son....He's Philip James ****** III and they call him 'Trey'. I kinda just assumed and never really aked but does it mean 3 in italian or something?

Re: baby names...

=
Ashlynn Regina (Regina after FH's grandmother)
Bailey Mae or Bailey Martina (My mom calls me Katie Mae and Martina is FH's other grandmother)

=
Cavan Michael (Cavan is the county in Ireland my grandmother is from - my sister is named Kerry after my grandfather's county, Michael is FH's middle name)

I wish I could do that to honor my Grandpa but Sligo really isn't the most attractive name, is it? Cavan is gorgeous though!!

My sister used my Grandpa's name as my niece's middle name and that worked beautifully!
