Re: Best Place to have Ceremony & Reception?
I'm having my ceremony and reception at The Woodmere Club which is a private country club - however, the good thing is you don't need to be sponsored by a member like most other country clubs on LI. I wanted to do it at Garden City CC first but don't know a member who could have sponsored me...then found out it was too small for my amt of guests. Woodmere was the last place I looked at - looked at 10 before including Crescent Beach CLub, Westbury Manor, Milleridge, North Ritz, and others....none of them gave me a good feeling about the ceremony location - that was very important to me. The ceremony room at Woodmere is hands down the most gorgeous I have seen. It has high ceilings - large octagon shape room with wall of gorgeous windows overlooking the nice golf course and ponds. ALso was my favorite reception room - and I was at 2 weddings there about 5 and 7 yrs ago and the food and service was phenomenal. B/c it is a private club they do not advertise so many brides on this board don't even know of it.Please FM me if you'd like to see pictures - my FH and I went there recently to take pics on a day they were setting up for a wedding....it's amazing there if you like the country club feel for a wedding!
I also was only interested in a place where they hold only 1 wedding at a time. I just would not be happy to see other brides running around that day!

I'm newly engaged & looking for a place to book the ceremony & reception. Just wanted to hear for some of you lovely brides out there to see what you think. I am really excited to go see the Meadow Club, I would love to get some feedback from people who picked the M.C. or if you looked at it and didn't chose, how come? THANKS so much!
I can't say enough good about the Thatched Cottage. Their customer service is by far the best I experienced (I looked at about 10 places). They are so accommodating, very reasonable, and the food is incredible. FM me if you want more info. Good Luck!!!

North Ritz is nice, but unfortunatly word is they are selling it and the last wedding is scheduled for 8/1/06
FH and I called NRC and they said this is completely unfounded!
