that number is skewed. It's not as common here in the NY metro area. For those spending more than 27K don't sweat it. For 165 people that's almost impossible here.

When all is said and done, that's about how much our wedding will cost us, BUT we are only having about 100 people and that is NOT including the cost of the rings!!

Well, me and FH are younger then the average age.
At the time of the wedding we will both be 26 yrs old.
I am inviting about 160 people.
I will be engaged for exactly 24 months.
Not really sure how much the wedding total is.

I think the average wedding a few years back cost around $15k. Unfortunately, my father still thinks that is all it cost. Me and my mom know the true.

Re: Bridal spending has increased 100% over last 15 years, the average cost of a wedding now tops $27,000.

Well originally I planned to have 110 people, but It is now beginning to look like 150 (hoping max 120 say they can come)

That said, I am 31, he is 37.
We will have been engaged almost 15 months by wedding time.
With honeymoon, but without e-rings and with mom paying for my attire, it is beginning to look like about $25K if 140 people show.

Exactly what I was thinking, but since its an average it dilutes what NY weddings really cost.

I'll be 23 and my FH will be 24
Our engagement will be 2yrs and 3 months
and on our wedding day we will be together for 7 years! I've just started planning but I already know that the amount will be well over 30,000 when we originally thought around 20! Who knows what the final amount will be at the end of this journey, but it sure is fun LOL....

our ages are different (me 28 FH 24)
we will be engaged shorter (9 months)
our wedding will be cheaper
we expect less guests (60-70)
