Catering Gratuity Help!!!

Hi everyone, we are looking at a wedding venue that adds the following fees on top of EVERYTHING, so based on $50,000 cost, it would be $6,000 admin + $6,000 gratuity + taxes.

12% administrative fee

12% gratuity

Taxes

The vendor says the 12% gratuity really isn’t gratuity and that we should tip the full amount as if gratuity wasn’t included. Some people are telling me this doesn’t sound right but I don’t know. Please help me!!!

Unfortunately, this sounds right. I paid for all of those added gratuities and then ANOTHER gratuity on top of that for my maitre’d and bridal attentendant the day of. At our final meeting, we were given an average gratuity price which was $1,000 for the maitre’d and $200 for the bridal attendant. I hope this helps!!
