We fell in love with Chateau Briand. CB just has an excellent feel to it. They really have gone out of the way to make sure we know what is going on and keep us involved and very comfortable. When we went on our original tour, we were there for close to 2.5 hours!

I also like the fact that CB has so many areas inside that would look great for pictures. Between the awesome lobby, and the photo studios, even if it is a horrible day outside, you can be assured that you will have great pics. I also like that in the photo studios they have a full service bar, and food to eat while you are taking pictures, and others wait to take pics with you.

Westbury Manor we looked at, and is a beautiful place. It has a nice feel to it, but not the feel we were looking for.

Yes, I absolutely agree 100%. We are getting married at the reception hall we choose and it is the Winter, so we really need a place that allows a lot of areas for pics. And our tour was also 2 1/2 hours! They really make you feel special and I did not find that as much at WM, sad to say...

My tour was that long as well. Who was the BM?

Our BM was Jack, he was great! Yes, long tour but very personal and thorough.

Princess - ours would be the same set up in terms of Rooms and whatnot. We may have the reception in the DaVinci it all depends on how many we can guarantee. You girls are so helpful!

Have they continued to be in contact with you and whatnot? Is the food as good as they say it is?

One thing I loved about Jack was when I called a few days later before I booked he knew who I was. I know my name is not common but it helped with the decision. Also I visited quite a few halls and that was the only one that sent me a follow up letter.

I went to the tea party last week and it was resourceful. I met with a Matired and he took me on a second tour with no problems.

We chose WM because we loved the fact that it didnt have the 'catering hall' look. It is a converted mansion, and feels that way when you walk inside. The gardens are beautiful all year long. I felt 'at home' at WM.

That's exactly why we booked it. I love the fact that is once a mansion and I love the squeaky floor upstairs.

good luck

oh yeah, he mentioned the tea party - sounded cute..

I think I am leaning towards CB!!! I really like the feel of the place, kind of an old hollywood feel to me, which I like. There is also PLENTY of space wherever you go in the place, whereas other places felt a little cramped.

What vendors are you using?

I am using all vendors that I have researched here on the boards. The only house vendor I may use is Royalty Limos. FM me if you want the vendors I am using. All have worked at CB many times so I am happy.

You sound like you've made up your mind...definitely go with CB. I've never been to a wedding there, but went to dinner...fantastic! It was FH's birthday we had one of the 'vendor gift certificates'. I LOVED it! The food, the atmosphere, dinner & dancing! Then for my B-day we used the other cert at FH...big disappointment!
CB & WM have amazing food!

My name is Rachel, just so you know. Although I can't say I object to being called Princess

[email protected] had her reception in DaVinci - that too was a beautiful wedding!

The food was great, I got loads of compliments. I would say to stay more on top of them with the 'vegetarian option' and Kosher meals, my Veggie and Kosher friends were a little less than overwhelmed (FM LBF404, she's Kosher and was at my wedding).

I didn't have a LOT of contact with the folks at CB, more with the people at PWP (who were G-dsends!). That was more because I didn't need it. Kerry, my BM, commented that I was the easiest bride she'd ever had! Really though, I loved the CB.

If you want to know about my vendors, it's in my review, I'll bump it for you.

ETA: I bumped both my review and pictures from AliasPook's wedding on the Bride's Review board for you, Melanie.

Re: Close to booking - Chateau Briand or Westbury Manor - please post pros and cons!

I am biased as well since my wedding was at CB. IMO, it totally depends on the decor you are looking for since they are entirely different. There are good things about each hall.
We chose CB for the decor - between the lobby and the rest of the building, theres so many spots for awesome pictures. The fact that there is a photo studio within the place thats covered in Monet pictures, (which we love) was also a plus. We were looking for something a little different and it was a perfect choice overall.
I know I didnt do a review but I just wanted to say I do not regret my choice at all. If I had to do it all over again, Id still choose CB.

I think the photo oppurtunities are better at WM. The hominess feel that I got was really nice also.

Re: Close to booking - Chateau Briand or Westbury Manor - please post pros and cons!

pros of WM:
beautiful grounds
great areas for pics
old mansion--not a catering hall feel

i wasn't crazy about CB because the outside was too 'stark' for me. i love the grounds of WM, but i am biased because i booked it. CB was too modern and not my taste but the wedding i went to there was good.
