Crescent Club or Land's End?
Hi all--I am very new to this boards as a 'poster' but have browsed around before--such a great resource!I was curious if people have really found that Land's End is less expensive than Crescent Club. My fiance and I visited Crescent Club last week and fell in love but would love to spend less with the same type of atmosphere. I've read that a lot of the LIwedding brides find that Land's End is similar and prices are less but when we got the rates e-mailed to us, they were the same or higher than Crescent Club!
We are also wondering if Sayville (where Land's End is located) is far out on Long Island--we live in the city and are curious if its worth the drive out there to visit if infact prices are a good deal higher...Can people send pictures of Land's End? They also can't book an appointment with us over next weekend which means it will be a long time before we can make it out there to see....can anyone give me specific details on Land's End?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Crescent Club or Land's End?
Congrats and Welcome to the boardsSayville is about 1 hour without traffic from Queens/Nassau border.
If you live in city and want that beach like feel, what about Westchester. New Rochelle has tons of halls on the water. Also in The Bronx is Marina del Rey which is really nice.
I really liked the Crescent Beach Club but the only thing I hated was that it was so far away from the LIE and I also felt that it way over priced for the amount of food they gave you.

Re: Crescent Club or Land's End?
Do they not provide enough food at the Crescent Club? How many stations do you think that each place should have? Lands End sounds wonderful though.Unfortunately Lands End can only see us during the week (they have events Saturday and Sunday) and we can't get out there during the week--kind of frustrating!

Lands End is pricey, we looked there and loved it but couldn't afford it. I've been to weddings there and Lovin Oven always does an amazing job.Congrats and welcome!

Re: Crescent Club or Water's Edge?
So even though we hear wonderful things about Land's End, we think it may be too far for all our city guests to get to. Has anyone been to weddings at Water's Edge? We visited there and thought it was very nice but now having trouble deciding between there and Crescent Club! Thanks again for all your input!

Re: Crescent Club or Land's End?
I went to both Landsend and Crescent...Crescent prices were DEFINITELY lower...I think I was quoted something like $85 pp (keep in mind Im a November bride)
Personally, I liked landsend a little better...
Landsend is a sister company to Flowerfield (where Im getting married) and so I know the food there is AH-MAZ-ZING! lol
good luck!

Re: Crescent Club or Land's End?
i just read your post a little closer and see you already checked out waters edge. if most of your guests are coming from the city its going to be MUCH more conveneint to do it at waters edge. especially since they have the boat that goes back and forth, so ppl dont even have to take the train into queens.

Re: Crescent Club or Land's End?
I think there are 2 'Crescent Clubs'........ 'Crescent Beach Club' and 'Crescent Something else Club'I went to both Landsend and Crescent Beach Club I liked Crescent Beach Club over landsend at Crescent Beach Club you have a private beach with palm trees - it was beautiful but for a saturday night in the summer was over $200 pp with the tax and service charge.
To me that is way to much $$$$.

Re: Crescent Club or Land's End?
HiI am actually booked for the CBC- however lands end was my close second however the lands end was a little bit more pricier and the service just wasn't as good as the service I received from the CBC.
FM me if you want any further info and congrats!

Re: Crescent Club or Land's End?
So we are back to square one--we cancelled our 'save the date' with Crescent Club because it just wasn't working out...there were some issues with giving us wrong dates, etc. and we didn't think it was working out. We are still looking to the place and are now focusing closer to the city....Welcome New Vendors
